  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups Jack cheese grated

Optional Toppings: cooked bacon bits, chopped parsley

    Instructions
     

    • Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
    • In a skillet, heat butter or oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. about 5-7 minutes, per side. Remove from skillet and set aside..
    • In the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Sauté mushrooms and onions until soft and lightly browned.
    • Return the chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Sprinkle grated Jack cheese over the chicken.
